The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of IME Division signed a contract on internet connectivity for Procurement Management Information System (PROMIS) and electronic government procurement (e-GP) system with BRAC BDMail Network Ltd. (bracNet) at the Conference Room of IMED on August 26, 2010.
Amulya Kumar Debnath, Director General of CPTU, and Mohammad Abdur Rab, Chief Executive Officer of bracNet, signed the contract on their respective sides.
Under the three-year contract, bracNet, an internet service provider, will among others, provide dedicated broadband internet connectivity( upload and download 10Mbps) for CPTU e-GP Data Center(with redundancy preferred from another source) and 3Mbps for four target agency Head Office with redundancy or above for the rest of the procuring entities in a phased manner for 3 years.
The CPTU is implementing Public Procurement Reform Project-II (PPRP-II) having four components. Introduction of e-GP is one of the four components. The PPRP-II is supported by the World Bank. |
