INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The consultant in close collaboration with the Project Director shall carry out the following duties:
• Design, develop, and maintain GIS maps, databases, and applications to support project processing, appraisal, and evaluation.
• Conduct spatial analysis, data modelling, remote sensing and visualization to extract insights and inform decision-making.
• Develop and implement data quality control processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of GIS data.
• Integrate GIS technology with existing other software, such as PPS, DRIP and PLIS software.
• Upgrade and maintain the GIS infrastructure to ensure compatibility with emerging technologies and to improve system performance.
• Develop and implement data migration plans to ensure seamless transition to new systems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to identify project requirements, develop solutions, and ensure that GIS products meet their needs.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect GIS data and systems from unauthorized access, use, or theft.
• Develop and implement data backup and recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failure or data loss.
• Prepare & develop user manuals, guides, and tutorials to facilitate self-learning and improve user adoption.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify GIS needs, develop solutions, and ensure that GIS products meet their requirements.
• Ensure that all GIS products and services meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time.
• Ensure in cooperation with PD,DPD, technical soundness of project activities and achievement of project outputs.
• Within 30 calendar days provide a comparison report between existing software (GRM) and expected Software to be developed (Contract period).

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
• Bachelor's degree in Geography/Computer Science/Information Technology/Urban & Rural Planning/Physics or a related field with a focus on GIS
• At least 10 (Ten) years of experience in a GIS-related field, with a focus on spatial analysis, data modeling, mapping and remote sensing
• Working experience on Government projects
• Experience with GIS software such as- ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Pro Standard/Advanced with ArcGIS Extensions (Image Analyst, Spatial Analyst and Geo-Statistical Analyst etc.), ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, GRASS GIS
• Experience with remote sensing software such as- ERDAS Imagine Professional, ENVI
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, JavaScript and working experience with Google Earth Engine
• Experience with database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL,
• Experience with spatial data formats such as shapefiles, GeoJSON, or KML
• Experience with web mapping technologies such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Mapbox
• Experience with GIS in a specific industry, such as natural resources, transportation, or urban planning
• Experience with stakeholder engagement, including communication, collaboration, and training
• Age preferably is within 45 years.
